Do you dare to swipe?

The game "Do you dare to swipe?" is inspired by the application Tinder. In this work I focus on the rankings we make on online channels. Through a quick swipe, we assess each other and determine what we like or don't like.

I find this behavior fascinating and therefore developed the game “Do you dare to swipe?”, in which you judge each other eye to eye. While looking straight into someone's eyes, you determine whether he / she deserves a "like" or "dislike". The game thereby confronts you with the online world in which we quickly make choices and judge each other based on appearances.

I presented the game in a presentation which I involved my audience in my perspective on the rushed society. It resulted in an active conversation in which everyone participated. I designed the game and wrote the (auditory) script.

Game rules
What do you need:

- one pair of gloves
- the audio

  • Decide who are the game players and who is the guide.
  • As players you put on the gloves. There is a red piece of fabric in the middle of each glove that divides the gloves in two.
  • One side for each player. The role of the guide is to help the players to put on the gloves, as the two players will be in one pair of gloves.
  • If you are stuck to each other in the pair of gloves let the guide turn on the audio.
  • Listen carefully to the audio and look at each other’s face while the audio is playing.
